충남 금산군이 산림청과 한국산림복지진흥원이 주관한 2024년 녹색자금 지원사업 평가에서 나눔숲 분야 전국 25개 대상지 가운데 종합 2위에 오르며 우수기관으로 선정됐다.
금산군의 이 같은 성과는 지역 내 산림복지 인프라 확충과 이용자 중심의 맞춤형 공간 조성에 힘쓴 결과로 풀이된다.
‘나눔숲’은 복권기금으로 조성된 녹색자금을 활용해 사회복지시설에 숲을 조성, 이용자의 삶의 질 향상과 자연 체험 기회를 제공하는 사업이다. 군은 지난해 이 공모사업에 선정돼 남일면에 위치한 금산효사랑요양병원에 총사업비 3억 원을 투입, 자연친화적 공간인 실외 나눔숲을 조성했다.
이번 사업은 ‘나눔길 따라 내 고향의 향기 속으로’라는 주제로, ▲고향나눔숲 ▲유실수원 ▲치유정원 등 세 가지 테마공간으로 구성되었으며, 황토 포장 산책로 등 무장애 시설을 갖춰 거동이 불편한 환자도 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 설계됐다.
특히 병원 입구가 마을과 가까이 맞닿아 있어, 환자와 보호자뿐 아니라 지역 주민들도 자유롭게 방문할 수 있는 열린 숲으로 기능하며 지역 공동체의 휴식처로 자리 잡고 있다.
군은 이 나눔숲 공간을 활용해 찾아가는 산림치유 프로그램도 함께 운영하고 있으며, 산림복지를 일상 속으로 확장하는 데 주력하고 있다.
