국제환경단체 화이트피스와 국내 환경 전문가들이 손잡고 전국자연보호 중앙회가 4월 20일(일) 오후 2시, 서산문화원 3층에서 성황리에 출범식을 가졌다.
이번 출범식은 환경 보호의 절실함을 알리고 지역 사회 중심의 실천적 활동을 강화하기 위한 초석을 다지기 위해 마련됐다.
행사는 약 1시간 30분 동안 다양한 축사와 위촉장 수여, 향후 활동 방향 발표 등으로 알차게 진행됐다. 화이트피스의 유명재 대표는 직접 나서 환경 문제의 심각성과 국제사회의 대응 방향에 대해 특강을 진행, 참석자들의 큰 공감과 호응을 이끌어냈다.
이어 정책자문위원장 이강현 교수가 전국자연보호 중앙회의 미래 비전과 구체적 활동 계획을 발표하며, 조직의 방향성을 명확히 제시했다.
