[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 홍태용 김해시장이 23일 인구문제 인식개선 릴레이 캠페인에 동참하며 사회적 공감대 확산에 나섰다.
릴레이 형식의 이번 캠페인은 보건복지부와 한국보건복지인재원에서 주관하는 공동 프로젝트로, 저출생·고령화·청년인구 유출 등 인구구조변화에 대한 사회적 관심도를 높이고 시민 스스로 인구문제를 ‘나의 문제’로 인식하게 만드는 공감 캠페인이다.
홍 시장은 최학범 경남도의회 의장의 지목을 받아 참여했으며, 다음 주자로 안선환 김해시의회 의장과 나동연 양산시장을 지목했다.
이런 가운데 김해시는 지난 17일 ‘인구위기대응 추진단’을 출범시키고 향후 15년간의 정책방향을 담을 ‘2040 김해시 인구정책 기본계획 수립 용역’ 착수보고회를 열어 부서간 협업체계 마련은 물론 인구정책 실행 기반을 다지고 있다.
시는 앞으로도 청년 도약, 외국인 공존, 생활인구 유입·정착, 초고령사회 대응 등 다양한 분야의 정책적 대응과 함께 시민의식 변화라는 사회적 기반을 함께 강화할 계획이다.
홍태용 시장은 “정책만으로는 인구 위기를 극복할 수 없다”며 “이번 캠페인을 계기로 인구 감소 위기를 지역사회 전체가 풀어야 할 과제로 인식하고 시민 모두가 인구문제에 관심을 갖게 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
