세종시가 대한민국 대표 직업교육기관인 한국폴리텍대학과 손잡고, 외국인 맞춤형 고숙련 기술인력 양성에 나선다.
28일, 세종시청에서 열린 업무협약식에서는 세종시와 한국폴리텍대학, 세종상공회의소가 협력체계를 구축하기로 합의하며, 향후 외국인 기술 인재 양성과 취업 연계를 위한 구체적인 계획을 발표했다.
이번 협약은 세종시가 대통령 선거 공약으로 제시했던 ‘외국인 인력 맞춤형 직업교육기관’ 설립 방안을 실현하기 위한 중요한 첫걸음으로 평가된다. 협약에 따라 세종시는 한국폴리텍대학과 함께 세종국제기술교육센터를 설립하고, 외국인 인력을 위한 지역 전략산업 맞춤형 직업 기술교육을 제공할 예정이다.
세종시와 한국폴리텍대학은 올해 안으로 조치원읍 일원에 세종국제기술교육센터를 설립할 계획이다. 이 센터는 외국인 인재들이 지역산업의 수요에 맞춘 전문 기술을 습득할 수 있도록 돕는 프로그램을 운영하며, 특히 한국어 교육과 문화교육을 병행하여 한국 정주형 외국인 기술인재를 양성할 예정이다.
