거창군 황강취수장 관련 범군민 대책위원회(공동위원장 송강훈, 신재화, 이하 ‘범대위’)는 29일 황강 광역취수원 예정지인 합천군 청덕교 일원과 창녕함안보, 칠서정수장 등 관련 시설에 대한 현장 견학을 실시했다.
이번 견학에는 이재운 거창군의회 의장을 비롯한 군의원과 범대위 위원 40여 명이 참석해, 황강 광역취수장 설치사업이 거창군민의 생존권에 미칠 영향을 살펴보고 취수원 다변화 사업지역의 시설들을 직접 확인하는 시간을 가졌다.
참가자들은 낙동강 합류지점에 위치한 황강 광역취수장 예정지와 낙동강을 원수로 사용하는 칠서정수장 처리시설을 방문해 고도의 정수 처리기술과 수질관리 과정에 대한 설명을 듣고, 이를 통해 먹는 물의 중요성과 낙동강 수질 개선을 위해 황강 상류의 맑은 물 유지의 필요성에 대해 재확인했다.
또한, 습지 보호구역으로 지정된 우포늪을 방문하여 창녕함안보 주변 수위 및 수질 변동이 생태계에 미치는 영향을 살펴봤으며, 지역주민들과 환경단체들이 협력해 우포늪을 잘 보전하고 있음을 확인했다.

거창군은 29일 숲아이, 중동, 동동 어린이집 원아 80명(5∼7세)이 참여해 금연 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
