금산군, '전시 병무 대응태세' 점검

충남 금산군이 지난 28일 금산다락원 소공연장에서 열린 전시 병무업무 교육에 참석해 유사시 병력 동원에 대비한 실무 역량 강화에 나섰다고 29일 밝혔다. 

이번 교육은 대전충남지방병무청이 주관했으며, 금산군을 비롯한 관할 지자체 병무 담당자들이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

이번 집합교육은 '병역법 제83조'에 따라 전시, 사변 또는 국가비상사태에 대비해 지방자치단체가 수행하게 될 병무 관련 위임업무를 숙지하고, 실전 대응 능력을 점검하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

특히 교육에서는 전시 상황 발생 시 지자체의 역할, 병력 동원 절차, 군부대와의 협업체계 등 실무 중심의 내용이 구체적으로 다뤄졌다. 병무청은 시군구 단위 병무조직의 즉각 대응력을 강화하기 위해 현장 실무자들을 대상으로 한 교육을 정기적으로 시행하고 있다.

현재 금산군은 본청 10명과 각 읍·면별로 3명씩 총 40명 규모의 전시 병무 조직을 구성하고 있으며, 이들은 평상시에도 임무를 부여받아 정기적인 훈련과 교육을 통해 상황 발생에 대비하고 있다.

금산군 관계자는 “전시에 신속하고 체계적인 병력 충원이 가능하도록 평시부터 병무담당 직원들의 역량을 강화해 나가고 있다”며 “앞으로도 병무청과의 협조 아래 실질적인 교육과 훈련을 지속적으로 이어 가겠다”고 밝혔다.
