최민호 세종시장이 4월 30일 국회를 찾아 여야 주요 인사들과 잇따라 면담을 갖고, 세종시의 숙원인 행정수도 완성을 비롯한 대선공약 과제의 필요성을 적극 설명하며 협조를 요청했다.
이날 최 시장은 천하람 개혁신당 당대표직무대행, 권영세 국민의힘 비상대책위원장, 정진욱 더불어민주당 당대표직무대행 비서실장과 각각 만나, 세종시가 각 당에 제출한 26개 대선 공약화 과제에 대해 설명하고 지지를 당부했다.
최 시장은 면담 자리에서 “행정수도 완성은 단순한 지역 현안을 넘어, 수도권 과밀 해소와 국가 균형발전을 위한 필수과제”라며 “개헌 여부와 관계없이 대통령실과 국회의 세종 이전이 이제는 실천으로 옮겨져야 한다”고 강조했다.
또한, “대한민국의 지속가능한 성장을 위해선 행정수도 세종을 중심으로 지방분권 체제를 공고히 해야 한다”며 “특히 AI, 양자, 바이오 등 미래전략기술을 집중 육성할 국가 거점이 세종이 되어야 한다”고 주장했다.
