충남 논산시가 국토교통부의 관련 법령 개정에 발맞춰 오는 7월 27일부터 ‘이륜자동차 안전검사’ 제도를 전면적으로 시행한다.
이번 조치는 교통사고 예방과 대기오염 저감을 위한 정책의 일환으로, 중·소형 이륜차를 체계적으로 관리하고 안전성을 확보하기 위해 마련됐다.
개정된 제도는 이륜자동차의 전 생애주기를 포괄하는 다양한 검사 유형을 도입한다.
초기 등록 후 시행하는 사용검사를 비롯해 주기적으로 진행되는 정기검사, 차량 구조 변경 시 필요한 튜닝검사, 필요 시 시행하는 임시검사까지 세분화된 검사 체계를 통해 운행 중인 이륜차의 상태를 면밀히 점검할 수 있도록 했다. 아울러 이륜차 정비업체 가운데 일정 기준을 충족하는 업체는 공식 ‘지정정비사업자’로 지정되어 검사를 실시할 수 있다.
