세종시교육청이 2일 청사 대강당에서 본청 및 직속 기관 직원을 대상으로 ‘5월 소통·공감의 날’을 열고 다양한 교육 행사를 진행했다.
이번 행사는 교육 현안에 대한 공유와 소통, 공직자로서의 책무성 제고를 목적으로 마련됐으며, 유보통합 관련 홍보영상 시청 ,국민신문고 우수 민원처리 부서 및 직원 시상 ,교육감 당부 말씀 ,명사 특강 ,직장교육 순으로 이어졌다.
특히, 명사 특강에는 유은혜 전 사회부총리 겸 교육부 장관이 초청돼 ‘사람을 위한 교육, 교육을 다시 생각하는 시간’이라는 주제로 강연을 펼쳤다.
유 전 부총리는 급변하는 디지털 사회에서 문해력과 집중력을 높이는 방법, 인공지능 시대의 교육 방향, 그리고 다세대·다문화 시대에 필요한 민주시민 역량에 대해 심도 있게 다뤘다.
강연에 참석한 한 직원은 “교육이 나아갈 방향에 대해 여러 각도에서 고민해볼 수 있는 소중한 시간이었다”며 “변화에 능동적으로 대응하고, 아이들을 위한 실천을 다짐하게 됐다”고 소감을 전했다.
이날 행사에서는 제22대 국회의원 선거를 앞두고 세종시선거관리위원회 김시경 지도감독관의 공직선거법 관련 교육도 진행됐다. 김 감독관은 공무원의 선거 중립 의무 및 관련 법률에 대한 이해를 돕고, 유의사항을 설명하며 선거 지원 시 유의할 점을 강조했다.
최교진 세종시교육감은 이날 어린이날과 스승의 날을 앞두고 특별 메시지를 전했다. 그는 “방정환 선생이 어린이 선언을 통해 전하고자 했던 뜻을 되새기며, 지금 우리 아이들이 보호받지 못하는 권리는 무엇인지 성찰하는 시간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
또한 “스승의 날을 맞아 교사와 학교의 역할을 함께 고민하고, 교육 현장에서 교사가 수업에 전념할 수 있도록 행정지원 강화에 힘쓰겠다”고 강조했다.
아울러 최 교육감은 “학교지원본부 신설 등을 통해 자율적인 학교 운영이 가능하도록 하겠다”며 “정책협의회를 통해 수렴된 교육공동체의 의견이 현장에 실질적으로 반영될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
한편, 다가오는 대통령 선거와 관련해 최 교육감은 “선거사무에 참여하는 직원들이 많을 것으로 예상된다”며 “선거관리위원회와 긴밀히 협력해 공정하고 원활한 선거가 치러질 수 있도록 적극 협조해 달라”고 당부했다.
