브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김문수 국민의힘 대선 후보는 8일 당 지도부가 한덕수 무소속 대선 예비후보와 '단일화 로드맵'을 추진하고 있는 것과 관련 "국민의힘 대통령 후보 자격으로 당헌 제74조의 당무우선권을 발동한다"며 "현시점부터 당 지도부의 강압적 단일화 요구를 중단하라"고 밝혔다.
김문수 후보는 이날 오전 서울 여의도 캠프에서 기자회견을 열고 "지금 진행되는 강제 단일화는 강제적 후보 교체이자 김문수를 끌어내리려는 작업이기 때문에 법적 분쟁으로 갈 수 있다"며 이같이 말했다.
국민의힘 당헌 74조를 보면, '대통령 후보자는 선출된 날로부터 대통령 선거일까지 선거 업무의 효율적 추진을 위해 필요한 범위 내에서 당무 전반에 관한 모든 권한을 우선해 가진다'고 명시하고 있다.
그는 "국민의힘 지도부는 사전에 계획한 듯 후보 등록도 하지 않겠다는 무소속 후보를 위한 선대위를 꾸리고 있었다"면서 "경선 후보들은 들러리였나. 본선 후보 등록도 하지 않겠다는 한덕수무소속 후보를 위해 저 김문수를 끌어내리는 이유가 무엇인가"라고 비판했다.

신동욱 수석대변인은 김 후보가 당무우선권을 발동한 데 대해서도 "당무우선권이 특별한 비상대권의 발동 같은 것이 아니다. 대통령 후보가 되면 이미 가지고 있는 것으로, 발동하든 발동하지 않든 당무우선권을 가지고 있는 것"이라고 설명했다.
이어 "당무우선권에 의거한 후보의 요구는 당연히 수용하는 게 맞지만 절대적으로 당의 결정을 무력화할 수 있는 권리는 아니다"라며 "당무우선권을 발동한다고 당의 이전 의사결정 시스템이 모두 무력화되는 것이 아님을 유념하길 바란다"고 지적했다.
아울러 "대선 후보의 당무우선권은 대선 사무에 관해서 본인이 우선적으로 결정할 권한을 가진다는 것이지 통상적인 비대위의 활동이나 결정을 후보가 뒤집을 수 있다거나 그런 것은 아니다"라며 "어제 김 후보가 한 후보에게 '내가 당이다'라고 이야기한 것은 굉장히 잘못된 것"이라고 부연했다.
