브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= "‘특검으로 옥죄고 청문회로 재갈’이라는 방식으로, 민주당이 사법부의 숨통까지 조이고 있습니다. 민주당은 조희대 대법원장을 겨냥한 특검법 발의를 밀어붙이고 있으며, 청문회를 앞두고는 탄핵 카드까지 만지작거리며 사법부를 완전히 인질로 삼겠다는 속내를 숨기지 않고 있습니다."
신동욱 국민의힘 수석대변인은 8일 논평을 통해 "특검은 보복, 청문회는 협박, 탄핵은 정치적 사냥일 뿐이며, 국민들은 이미 그 본질을 꿰뚫어 보고 있다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "이재명 대표의 선거법 유죄 취지 파기환송 이후, 민주당은 마음에 들지 않는 판결은 찍어내고 고개 숙이지 않는 판사는 겁박하겠다는 태도를 보이고 있다"며 "입법 권력을 앞세워 법원을 짓누르고 재판정 위에 국회를 세우겠다는 오만함이 극에 달하고 있다"고 비판했다.
이어 "법정은 법이 지배하는 곳이지 민주당이 지배하는 곳이 아니며, 청문회는 진실을 묻는 자리이지 판사를 무릎 꿇리는 자리가 아니고, 특검은 권력 감시 장치이지 재판을 뒤엎기 위한 정치적 칼이 아니다"라고 강조했다.
신 수석대변인은 "민주당의 행태는 명백한 헌법 파괴이자 민주주의 파괴"라며 "입법이 사법을 인질 삼고 정치가 법을 조종하기 시작하는 순간 대한민국 민주주의는 숨 쉴 공간조차 잃는다"고 경고했다.
그러면서 "사법부는 겁박과 압박에도 흔들림 없이 오직 법과 양심으로 판단해야 하며, 사법이 정치의 하수인이 되는 순간 대한민국은 무너진다. 민주당은 사법부를 향한 특검·청문·탄핵이라는 ‘조폭식 협박 정치’를 지금 당장 멈춰야 한다"고 촉구했다.
