[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 행정안전부에서 주관하는 ‘2025년 고향올래(로컬유학 유형) 사업’ 공모에 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다고 9일 밝혔다.
‘고향올래’ 사업은 체류형 생활인구를 확보해 지역경제에 활력을 높이는 것을 목표로 하는 사업으로, 로컬유학, 워케이션, 런케이션, 두 지역살이, 로컬벤처 등 총 5개 유형으로 구성되어 있다.
이번 공모에는 41개 지방자체단체가 참여했으며, 총 12개 지방자치단체가 최종 선정되었고, 경상남도에서는 거창군이 유일하게 이름을 올렸다.
이번에 선정된 사업 ‘런 in 북상포레 로컬유학’은 ‘도시 아이들의 숲속 한 학기’를 테마로 북상면의 갈계숲 등 풍부한 자연환경과 거창군의 교육 인프라, 농촌체험휴양마을인 숲 옛 마을 등을 활용해 유학생 가족을 위한 거주 및 공용 공간 조성과 로컬 교육 및 연계 프로그램을 제공하는 사업이다.
군은 이번 ‘고향올래’ 공모사업 선정으로 매년 유학생 가족 20명 이상 체류 인구 확보와 경상남도 로컬유학 거점으로 자리 잡아 ‘명품 교육도시 거창군’의 위상을 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
구인모 거창군수는 “이번 공모사업 선정을 계기로 북상면을 중심으로 한 로컬유학 플랫폼을 본격적으로 구축하여, 교육과 지역체험이 공존하는 거창군만의 매력적인 체류형 공간으로 거듭나 정주와 체류가 연계되는 지속가능한 지역활성화 모델을 만들어 가겠다”고 밝혔다.
