윤석열 전 대통령이 11일 "자유가 무너진 곳에서 경제·미래도 없고, 체제가 무너지면 모든 건 모래 위의 성이 된다"며 "우리는 지켜내야 한다'고 밝혔다.
윤 전 대통령은 이날 페이스북에 올린 '국민께 드리는 호소' 제하 글에서 이같이 적은 후 "2030 청년·미래세대들이 살아갈 자랑스러운 우리 자유 대한민국을 저 윤석열은 끝까지 여러분과 함께 할 것'이라고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "이번 6.3 대통령 선거는 단순한 정권 교체 문제가 아닌 자유 대한민국 체제를 지킬 것인가, 무너뜨릴 것인가 그 생사 기로에 선 선거"라며 "이번 국민의힘 대통령 후보 경선은 격렬한 논쟁과 진통이 있었지만 여전히 건강함을 보여줬다"고 평했다.
또 "김문수 후보가 최종 후보로 선출된 이 순간 저는 경쟁을 펼쳤던 모든 후보분께도 진심으로 깊은 경의를 표한다"며 "한덕수 전 총리께서 출마 선언 당시 밝히셨던 '자유민주주의와 국가의 번영을 위한 사명'은 이제 김문수 후보와 함께 이어가야 할 사명이 됐다"고 했다.
