세종시가 행정 효율성을 높이기 위한 디지털 행정의 일환으로 생성형 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 보도자료 초안 작성 지원 서비스를 전 직원에게 도입해 실무에 적용했다고 12일 밝혔다.
이번에 도입된 서비스는 세종시 고유의 보도자료 양식에 기반해, 오픈AI의 응용 프로그래밍 인터페이스(API)를 활용해 개발됐다. 별도의 챗GPT 계정 없이도 시청 내부 시스템을 통해 누구나 사용할 수 있는 것이 특징이다.
해당 서비스는 사용자가 입력한 사업 개요나 주제를 바탕으로, 인공지능이 자동으로 보도자료 형식의 제목과 본문을 생성해 주는 구조다.
특히, ‘다시 작성 요청’ 기능을 통해 추가 정보나 수정 요청 사항을 입력하면 보다 보완된 초안을 다시 받아볼 수 있어, 실무자의 반복 작업 부담을 덜 수 있다.
세종시는 이번 서비스를 통해 보도자료 작성 업무의 속도와 효율성을 높이는 한편, 정형화되지 않은 문서 작성에 소요되는 행정력을 절감할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
세종시는 향후 이 AI 기반 지원 서비스를 인사말 작성, 회의자료 작성, 보고서 요약, 실시간 질의응답형 챗봇 기능 등으로 점차 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
세종시 관계자는 “이번 AI 도입은 단순한 기술 접목을 넘어, 행정업무의 질과 속도를 동시에 높일 수 있는 실질적인 혁신 사례”라며 “생성형 AI를 적극적으로 활용해 행정문서 작성에 투입되는 시간을 줄이고, 직원들이 보다 창의적이고 중요한 업무에 집중할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이번 조치는 공공부문에서 생성형 AI 기술의 실용적 활용 가능성을 보여주는 대표 사례로, 다른 지자체의 관심도 이어질 것으로 전망된다.
