거창군은 오는 15일 진주시 남강초등학교를 시작으로 ‘2025년 찾아가는 거창사건 바르게 알기 교육’을 본격적으로 시작한다고 14일 밝혔다.
‘거창사건’은 1951년 2월 9일부터 11일까지 3일간 거창군 신원면 일대에서 국군에 의해 무고한 양민 719명이 희생된 사건으로, ‘찾아가는 거창사건 바르게 알기 교육’은 거창 방문이 힘든 초·중·고교생들에게 ‘거창사건’의 진실을 알리고 공감대를 형성하기 위해 학교로 직접 찾아가는 프로그램이다.

이번 훈련은 순간최대풍속 20m/s의 강풍이 부는 상황 속에서 오후 2시 30분경 장팔리 일대에서 산불이 발생한 상황을 가정해 실시됐다. 훈련에는 거창군 협업부서 10개 팀과 거창소방서, 거창경찰서 등 유관기관, 덕유산자연사랑요양병원 입소자 등 총 60여 명이 참여했다.
