울진 해양치유센터는 평해읍 월송리 391번지 일원에 총 340억 원의 사업비를 투입하여 조성되는 대규모 프로젝트이다. 울진군의 풍부한 해수, 아름다운 해송, 넓은 해변 등 지역 특화 자원을 적극적으로 활용하여 치유와 미용 산업의 중심지로 도약하는 것을 목표로 추진되고 있다.
2026년 12월 완공을 목표로 하고 있는 울진 해양치유센터는 구산해수욕장 등 남부권 지역의 경제 활성화는 물론, 새로운 관광객 유치를 통해 지역 경제에 활력을 불어넣을 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.
손병복 울진군수는 “해양치유센터의 안전하고 성공적인 건립을 기원하며, 울진군을 해양 치유 중심 도시로 발전시키는 데 총력을 기울여 지역 경제 활성화를 도모하고 구산해수욕장 등 인접 관광지와 연계한 해양 관광 산업 육성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
