김해시보건소는 제22회 한센인의 날(5월 17일)을 맞아 15일 전남 고흥군 국립소록도병원에서 열린 기념행사에 관내 한센인과 가족, 자원봉사자의 참가를 지원했다고 밝혔다.
한센인의 날은 매년 국립소록도병원 개원 기념일에 맞춰 전국 한센인들이 모여 친목을 도모하는 자리로 2004년 한센인의 날 지정 이후 올해로 22번째를 맞았다.
김해시는 5개 한센인 정착마을에서 한센인과 가족 등 102명이 참가했으며 김해시보건소는 마을별 이동차량 지원, 여행자보험 가입, 차량별 구급함 비치와 의료인력 배치, 자원봉사자 활동 보조 등 안전한 행사 참가를 지원했다.
이날 기념행사에서 김해시보건소 보건관리과에 근무하는 김소정 주무관이 재가한센인 생계비 지원, 한센간이양로주택 관리 등 한센인 복지 증진에 기여한 공로로 보건복지부 장관 표창을 수상했다.
