경기북부보훈지청(지청장 손순욱)이 현충시설과 보훈 정신을 알리는 '4인 5각 함께 걸어 보훈' 프로젝트를 2월부터 12월까지 진행하고 있다.
이 프로젝트는 경기북부보훈지청 직원 4명이 한 조를 이루어 매월 11개 관할 시군의 현충시설을 방문하고, 국가보훈부 사업을 홍보하며 직원 소통 활동을 펼치는 방식으로 운영된다.

의정부시, 고양시, 파주시 방문에 이어 5월에는 가평군 조종면에 위치한 '가평군 삼충단비'를 방문했다.
삼충단은 일제 침략에 항거하다 자결한 조병세, 최익현, 민영환 선생을 기리기 위해 가평 유지들이 1910년에 조성한 제단이다.
만주사변 이후 사라졌다가 1988년에 복원되었으며, 2005년 현재의 위치로 이전되었다.

5월 13일 보훈지청 직원들은 삼충단에 태극기를 게양하고 세 애국지사를 위해 묵념했으며, 해설사의 안내로 삼충신의 순국 정신에 대해 배우는 시간을 가졌다.
보상과 직원 설선영은 "광복 80주년이 되는 올해 처음 현충시설을 방문하게 되어 더욱 의미 있었다"며 "나라를 위해 헌신하신 분들 덕분에 지금의 우리가 있다는 것을 생각하며 감사하는 마음을 잊지 않겠다"고 소감을 전했다.

경기북부보훈지청은 이 프로젝트를 통해 국민이 주변 현충시설의 의미를 되새기기를 기대한다고 밝혔다.
다음 6월에는 UN군 관련 국가수호 현충시설인 동두천시 자유수호평화박물관을 방문할 예정이다.
