이 상은 한국언론인협회가 주관하고, ESG(환경·사회·지배구조) 전 분야에서 우수한 성과를 거둔 공공기관 및 기업을 선정해 수여하는 상이다. 올해로 19회째를 맞은 시상식에서 한수원은 환경(E), 사회(S), 지배구조(G) 모든 영역에서 탁월한 성과를 입증하며 수상의 영예를 안았다.
한수원은 특히 원자력 발전을 통한 탄소중립 실현에 큰 기여를 해왔다. 지난해에는 연간 19만GWh에 달하는 역대 최대 원자력 발전량을 기록, 약 9,024만 톤의 온실가스를 감축해 국가 전체 배출량의 약 14.5%에 해당하는 성과를 올렸다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (President Hwang Joo-ho, hereinafter referred to as Hanwha Solutions) won the ‘ESG Grand Prize’ at the ‘2025 National ESG Excellent Company’ awards ceremony, receiving external recognition for its sustainable management capabilities.
This award is hosted by the Korea Press Association and is given to public institutions and companies that have achieved excellent performance in all areas of ESG (environment, society, and governance). At the 19th awards ceremony this year, Hanwha Solutions was honored with the award for demonstrating outstanding performance in all areas of environment (E), society (S), and governance (G).
Hanwha Solutions has made a significant contribution to achieving carbon neutrality through nuclear power generation. Last year, it recorded the largest-ever nuclear power generation of 190,000 GWh, reducing approximately 90.24 million tons of greenhouse gases, equivalent to approximately 14.5% of the country’s total emissions.
In terms of realizing social value, Hanwha Solutions’s steps are also notable. It launched the customized joint growth brand ‘Sagi-Charge’, supplied 2.4 trillion won worth of work, and achieved the achievement of exceeding 1 trillion won in exports from cooperative SMEs for the first time ever.
