거창군은 자립준비장애인의 안정적인 사회 정착을 지원하기 위한 자립지원정책 강화를 위해 20일 전북 전주시 자립지원주택 현장을 방문해 우수사례를 벤치마킹했다고 밝혔다.
이번 방문에는 거창군 담당 공무원, 사업수행기관인 거창군 삶의 쉼터 직원 등 7명이 참여했으며, 전북 중증장애인 자립생활연대에서 운영 중인 자립지원주택의 공간 구성, 입주 대상자 지원체계, 자립 프로그램 운영 방식 등을 집중적으로 살펴봤다.
전북 중증장애인 자립생활연대는 전국 지자체 중 선도적으로 자립지원주택을 운영해 왔으며, 주거 안정뿐 아니라 자립을 준비하고 있는 장애인의 사회 정착을 돕는 다양한 맞춤형 프로그램을 통해 실질적인 자립을 유도하고 있다는 평가를 받고 있다.
군은 이번 벤치마킹을 통해 거창군 실정에 맞는 자립지원주택모델을 구축하고 자립을 준비하고 있는 장애인들에게 실질적인 도움이 되는 정책을 마련해 나갈 예정이다.
한편, 거창군 장애인 자립지원 시범사업은 2023년 7월 보건복지부 공모사업에 선정되어 경상남도에서 거창군이 유일하게 추진 중인 사업이다. 현재 12명의 자립대상자를 목표로 지역사회에서 장애인이 독립적 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 주거결정권을 보장하고 개인별 특성을 고려해 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하며 자립적인 삶을 돕고 있다.
