■ 금강소나무 숲길, 생태와 역사를 품은 걷기 명소
울진 북부에 위치한 ‘금강소나무 숲길’은 평균 수령 200년 이상, 일부는 500년에 달하는 천연 금강소나무가 빽빽이 들어선 생태탐방로다. 천연기념물 제155호로 지정된 이 숲길은 보부상 유적지, 십이령 옛길, 화전민 터 등 역사 유적과 함께 숲 해설사가 동행하는 사전 예약제 프로그램으로 운영되고 있다.
지난 5월 3일 전면 개장한 이 탐방로는 총 6개 구간, 74.1km로 구성되어 있으며, 다양한 난이도와 볼거리를 갖춰 탐방객들의 발길이 이어지고 있다. 특히, 숲속 인문문화공간으로 개관한 ‘지관서가’는 금강송 군락지 속에서 책과 명상, 사색을 즐길 수 있는 공간으로 쉼과 지식을 제공한다.

왕피천공원은 왕피천 케이블카, 아쿠아리움, 곤충여행관, 안전체험관 등 다양한 체험시설을 갖춘 복합 힐링 공간으로 가족 단위 관광객의 발길이 이어지고 있다. 특히 지난 5월 어린이날 하루에만 7,830명이 방문하며 최고 기록을 경신했다.

2억 5천만 년 전 형성된 울진 성류굴은 국내 최대 규모의 석회동굴로, 한여름에도 서늘한 기온이 유지되는 대표적인 자연 탐험지다. 석순과 종유석이 빚어낸 비경은 가족 단위 관광객에게 큰 호응을 얻고 있으며, 입구에 위치한 피암터널은 독특한 풍광으로 포토 명소로 인기를 끌고 있다.
