[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 제54회 전국소년체육대회와 제19회 전국장애학생체육대회를 성공적으로 마무리하면서 전국 규모 스포츠 대회 운영 역량을 다시 한번 입증했다.
홍태용 김해시장은 ”지난해 전국(장애인)체전에 이은 전국소년(장애학생)체전 성공 개최는 스포츠 대도시 위상을 확실히 각인시켜 줄 만한 성과"라며 "대회를 위해 함께 노력해주시고 많은 관심과 성원을 보내주신 자원봉사자와 유관기관, 그리고 모든 시민들께 감사드린다“고 밝혔다.
제54회 전국소년체전과 제19회 전국장애학생체전은 지난 13일 김해체육관에서 전국장애학생체전 개회식을 시작으로 전국소년체전까지 총 10일간(육상 사전경기 이틀 포함)의 열전을 27일 모두 마무리했다.
이번 체전은 역대 최대 규모로 전국 17개 시·도에서 선수와 임원을 포함해 총 2만 2,000여 명이 참가해 장애학생체전 17개, 전국소년체전 36개 종목에서 기량을 펼쳤다.
