[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 제54회 전국소년체육대회와 제19회 전국장애학생체육대회기간, 주 개최지 김해에서 1,100명의 자원봉사자들이 활약했다.
30일 김해시에 따르면 이달 김해를 주 개최지로 경남 곳곳에서 열린 전국소년(장애학생)체전에 참여한 자원봉사자들은 종합상황실 운영 지원, 경기장 안내, 급수 지원, 경기 응원, 도핑 지원 등으로 선수단과 관람객이 불편 없이 대회를 치르고 즐기도록 각자 맡은 역할에 최선을 다했다.
특히 경기장을 찾은 선수, 임원, 관람객을 위해 청소와 안내 등 기본적인 일부터 급수와 교통봉사 등 대회에 필수적인 부분까지 이들의 손이 닿지 않은 곳이 없었다. 또 도움이 필요한 관람객에게 친절하게 응대해 김해의 따뜻함을 전국에 알리는 홍보대사 역할을 톡톡히 했다.
장애학생체전 배구 경기장에서 리더 자원봉사자로 활동한 배정숙씨는 “김해를 대표한다는 자부심을 가지고 친절한 미소로 관람객을 맞이했다”며 “지역에서 치러지는 큰 행사에 도움이 될 수 있어서 뜻 깊은 시간이었다”고 밝혔다.
