‘2025 코리안드림 통일실천결의대회’측은 보도자료에서 “‘2025 코리안드림 통일실천결의대회’ 서울대회가 5월 30일 오후 2시, 백범 김구 기념관 대회의실에서 "혼자 꾸는 꿈은 꿈에 불과하지만, 함께 꾸는 꿈은 현실이 된다. 화합과 통일된 한반도를 실현하자"는 다짐과 함께 개막했다”고 전했다.

자료에 따르면, 이 행사에는 정운찬 코리안드림한강대축제 대회장(제40대 국무총리), 정우택 공동조직위원장(제21대 국회부의장), 이종걸 공동조직위원장(전 더불어민주당 원내대표), 서인택 실행총괄위원장, 김철민 (사)한국청년회의소 부회장, 안찬일 세계북한연구센터 소장, 강철환 북한전략센터 대표, 김성주 AKU 탈북민전국위원회 청년위원장, 김희연 세계탈북여성지원연합회 회장 등 400여 명이 참석했다.
이번 대회는 8월 15일, '코리안드림 한강대축제'와 14~15일 양일간 개최되는 ‘코리안드림 천만 캠페인’의 성공을 위한 전국적 시민 결집의 일환으로, 지난 5월 12일 대구·경북 지역을 시작으로 전국 13개 시도를 순회하며 개최됐다.
정운찬 대회장은 환영사에서 “오는 8월 15일, 우리 민족의 역사와 삶이 흐르는 한강에서 ‘코리안드림 한강대축제’가 힘차게 펼쳐진다”며, “우리는 지난 80년간 일제 강점기와 전쟁의 폐허를 딛고 산업화와 민주화를 동시에 이뤄냈다. 이제는 이념·세대·지역·계층의 장벽을 넘어 진정한 국민통합과 지속 가능한 동반성장을 이루어야 한다”고 강조했다. 이어 “이 축제는 분단의 상처를 치유하고 통일의 염원을 하나로 모으는 희망과 화합의 장이 될 것이다. 한강의 물결처럼 우리의 의지를 모아, 북녘 동포들에게도 그 메시지를 전하고, 더 크고 원대한 대한민국의 미래를 향해 함께 나아가자”고 말했다.
정우택 공동조직위원장은 “코리안드림은 분단의 역사를 극복할 한반도의 새로운 비전이자, 모두가 품어야 할 시대적 과제”라며, “통일은 정부만의 일이 아니라 우리 모두가 주인이 되어 이뤄야 할 과제이다. 이념이 아닌 인간 중심의 통일, 대결이 아닌 상생의 통일, 형식이 아닌 삶의 질을 높이는 통일이 되어야 한다”고 밝혔다. 그는 이어 “이제 우리는 분단의 역사를 마감하고 위대한 한민족으로 거듭나야 한다. 그 시작은 바로 나의 실천에서 비롯된다. 광복 80주년인 올해를 새로운 도전과 희망의 원년으로 삼아, 코리안드림을 현실로 만들어가자”고 역설했다.
이종걸 공동조직위원장은 “홍익인간 정신으로 일제 강점기의 슬픈 역사를 극복해 온 대한민국은, 광복 80년을 맞아 새로운 미래를 만들어가야 한다”며, “‘코리안드림 천만 캠페인’을 통해 국민대통합과 한반도 통일을 향한 연대와 상생의 미래를 실현하자”고 강조했다.
서인택 코리안드림한강대축제 총괄실행위원장은 “미·중 패권경쟁이 격화되는 가운데, 북한은 민족통일을 포기하고 적대적 2국가론을 선언했으며, 부모 동의도 없이 러시아·우크라이나 전쟁에 12,000명의 병력을 파병하는 등 내부 불안이 심화되고 전 세계적 위협 국가로 부상하고 있다. 장마당 경제로 배급체계와 사상통제는 이미 무너졌고, 남은 것은 공포정치뿐이다. 북한 체제의 종말이 다가오고 있으며, 이는 통일의 기회”라고 진단했다.

This event was held on May 12 in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, as part of a nationwide citizen rally to ensure the success of the 'Korean Dream Hangang Festival' and the 'Korean Dream 10 Million Campaign' held on the 14th and 15th.
In his welcoming speech, Chairman Jeong Un-chan said, “On August 15, the ‘Korean Dream Hangang Festival’ will be held powerfully on the Hangang River, where our people’s history and life flow.” He emphasized, “Over the past 80 years, we have overcome the ruins of Japanese colonial rule and war and achieved industrialization and democratization at the same time. Now, we must overcome the barriers of ideology, generation, region, and class to achieve true national integration and sustainable shared growth.” He continued, “This festival will be a place of hope and harmony that heals the wounds of division and unites the desire for unification. Let’s gather our will like the waves of the Hangang River, convey that message to our compatriots in the North, and move forward together toward a greater and more ambitious future for the Republic of Korea.” Co-Chairman Jeong Woo-taek stated, “The Korean Dream is a new vision for the Korean Peninsula that will overcome the history of division, and a task of the times that we all must embrace,” and added, “Unification is not just the government’s job, but a task that we all must take ownership of and achieve. It must be a unification centered on people, not ideology, a unification of coexistence, not confrontation, and a unification that improves the quality of life, not a formality.” He continued, “Now, we must end the history of division and be reborn as a great Korean people. The beginning of this begins with my own practice. Let’s make this year, the 80th anniversary of liberation, the first year of new challenges and hope, and make the Korean Dream a reality.”
Co-Chairman Lee Jong-geol emphasized, “The Republic of Korea, which overcame the sad history of the Japanese colonial period with the Hongik Ingan spirit, must create a new future on the 80th anniversary of liberation,” and “Let’s realize a future of solidarity and coexistence toward national integration and the unification of the Korean Peninsula through the ‘Korean Dream 10 Million Campaign.’”
Seo In-taek, the executive director of the Korean Dream Hangang Festival, diagnosed, “As the US-China hegemony competition intensifies, North Korea has given up on national unification and declared a hostile two-state theory, and is emerging as a global threat by sending 12,000 troops to the Russia-Ukraine war without parental consent, deepening internal instability. The distribution system and ideological control have already collapsed due to the market economy, and all that remains is the politics of terror. The end of the North Korean regime is approaching, and this is an opportunity for unification.”
