(양주=브레이크뉴스 경기동북부)하인규 기자=양주시가 지난달 30일 ‘양주시농업기술센터 대회의실’에서 ‘2025년 4-H 청소년의 달 행사’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 청소년의 달을 맞아 4-H 이념(지·덕·노·체)을 바탕으로 바른 인성과 실천력을 함양하고 농업과 환경에 대한 청소년의 관심과 참여를 이끌기 위해 마련됐다.
행사에는 학교 4-H 회원, 청년회원, 지도교사 등 100여 명이 참석해 의미 있는 시간을 함께했다.
이날 4-H 활동에 적극 참여한 지도교사, 청년회원, 학교 회원 등 6명에게 유공 표창이 수여됐으며 한국4-H양주시본부는 5개 학교 8명의 학생에게 총 80만 원의 장학금을 전달해 청소년들의 성장을 응원했다.
신규회원 7명에게는 4-H클로버 타이슬링이 수여되는 입단식이 진행됐고 4-H 서약 제창과 노래 제창, 탄소중립 실천 결의문 낭독 등을 통해 환경 보호와 지속 가능한 미래에 대한 의지를 다졌다.
체험활동으로는 ▲이끼를 활용한 천연 가습기 만들기, ▲바질·루꼴라 재배 체험이 운영돼 참가 청소년들이 실생활에서 활용할 수 있는 친환경 농업을 직접 경험하며 농업의 가치를 체득하는 기회를 가졌다.
이어, 소양 교육, 체험활동, 설문조사를 끝으로 마무리됐으며 농협중앙회 양주시지부에서 후원한 쌀과자, 현미 과자, 식혜 등이 간식으로 제공돼 따뜻한 분위기를 더했다.
시 관계자는 “4-H 회원들이 청소년 시절부터 지·덕·노·체의 가치를 몸소 실천하며 탄소중립과 지속 가능한 농업을 선도할 인재로 성장하길 기대한다”고 전했다.
