[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 경남도가 주최하고 경상남도·경남도체육회·대한자전거연맹이 주관하는 ‘투르 드 경남 2025’ 거제스테이지가 5일 성공적으로 마무리됐다.
경남 남해안의 아름다운 자연경관과 이순신 장군의 충절이 깃든 역사문화자원을 배경으로 펼쳐진 ‘투르 드 경남 2025’는 세계적 수준의 국제 도로사이클 대회로, 16개국 22개 팀, 220여 명의 정상급 선수들이 참가했다.
지난 4일 통영에서 개막해 거제, 사천, 남해를 거쳐 오는 8일 창원에서 폐막한다.
레이스 이틀째인 거제 구간은 거제어촌민속박물관에서 출발해 동부면, 남부면, 거제면, 둔덕면을 거쳐 거제농업개발원까지 이어지는 총 121km 코스로, 바다와 산이 어우러진 역동적인 코스가 생동감 넘치는 볼거리를 제공하며 큰 호응을 얻었다.
이번 거제스테이지에서는 호주 출신의 홉킨스 딜런(ROOJAI INSURANCE)이 구간누적 1위를 차지헀다.
산악구간의 왕중왕을 가리는 킹오브 마운틴 부문에서는 레인웰쉬 탈리(CBW), 최우수 신인에게 돌아가는 베스트 영 라이더는 임종원(LXC), △거제구간 1위는 라카니시모네(JCL TEAM UKYO)가 각각 수상의 영광을 안았다.
거제시는 이번 대회 준비를 위해 교통통제, 자원봉사자 운영, 구간별 안내체계 등을 철저히 점검하며 시민 불편은 최소화하고 대회의 품격과 완성도는 높이는 데에 주력했다.
