[브레이크뉴스 양주=김태영 기자] 경기도 양주시 장기요양기관연합회(회장 최화자)는 지난 6월 9일 경기섬유종합지원센터 1층 컨벤션홀에서 ‘제2회 양주시 장기요양의 날 기념식’을 성황리에 개최했다.
이번 행사는 장기요양 현장에서 헌신해온 종사자들의 노고를 격려하고, 그들의 자긍심을 높이는 뜻깊은 자리로 마련됐으며, 약 250여 명이 참석해 큰 의미를 더했다.
기념식은 최화자 회장의 기념사와 강수현 양주시장의 축사로 시작되었다. 최 회장은 기념사를 통해 “장기요양 종사자 모두가 얼마나 소중한 일을 해오고 있는지를 서로 확인하고 격려하는 시간”이라며, 특히 인력 부족과 과중한 업무에 시달리는 사회복지사들의 현실을 짚고 “업무 부담 완화와 임금 현실화는 더 이상 미룰 수 없는 과제”라고 강조했다.
이어 “양주시와 경기도, 복지부에 지속적으로 현장의 목소리를 전달하고, 실질적인 변화가 이루어질 때까지 노력하겠다”라고 밝혀 큰 공감을 얻었다.
강수현 양주시장은 축사에서 “장기요양 종사자 여러분의 헌신이 우리 지역사회의 돌봄과 복지 기반을 튼튼히 하고 있다”며 감사의 마음을 전했다.
이어진 표창 수여식에서는 지역 복지 향상과 노인장기요양제도 발전에 기여한 34명의 종사자에게 양주시장상, 시의장상, 국회의원상, 협회장상 등이 수여되었으며, 수상자와 참석자 모두에게 깊은 감동과 자부심을 안겨주었다.
기념식 전에는 예원예술대학교 사회복지대학원 박세영 교수의 색소폰 연주와 평화실버센터 박종경원장님의 이어진 섹스폰 하모니,그리고 퓨전밴드 ‘Fusion Candy’의 축하 공연이 펼쳐져 큰 호응을 얻었다. 대중에게 익숙한 곡들을 세미클래식으로 재해석한 무대는 장기요양 종사자들에게 잠시나마 쉼과 위로의 시간을 선사했다.
행사 말미에는 주식회사 포쿨, ㈜렉스필 호텔침구브랜드(바운티풀), 희망양주, 다사랑재가노인지원서비스센터, 케어인청춘재활노인복지센터, ㈜양주돌봄센터 등 여러 후원사 및 기관의 협찬으로 풍성한 경품 추첨 이벤트가 진행되어 현장의 분위기를 더욱 뜨겁게 달구며 기념식의 대미를 장식했다.

최화자 회장은 “오늘만큼은 장기요양 종사자 여러분 모두가 서로의 노고를 다독이고, 우리의 가치를 다시금 되새기는 시간이 되셨기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 좋은 돌봄, 좋은 일터, 지속 가능한 요양기관을 위해 연합회가 여러분과 함께 걷겠다”고 밝혔다.

The 2nd Yangju City Long-Term Care Day Held Successfully
A meaningful time to reflect on the dedication of long-term care workers and think together about improving treatment and the future of care
[Brenick News Yangju=Reporter Kim Tae-young] The Yangju City Long-Term Care Institution Association (Chairman Choi Hwa-ja) successfully held the ‘2nd Yangju City Long-Term Care Day Commemoration Ceremony’ at the convention hall on the 1st floor of the Gyeonggi Textile Complex Support Center on June 9.
This event was prepared as a meaningful place to encourage the hard work of workers who have dedicated themselves to the long-term care field and to raise their self-esteem, and the attendance of approximately 250 people added great meaning.
The commemoration ceremony began with a commemorative speech by Chairman Choi Hwa-ja and a congratulatory speech by Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyeon. In his commemorative speech, Chairman Choi said, “It is a time to confirm and encourage each other how valuable the work all long-term care workers are doing,” and especially emphasized the reality of social workers suffering from a lack of manpower and excessive workload, and “alleviating the workload and making wages realistic are tasks that can no longer be delayed.”
He then said, “We will continue to convey the voices of the field to Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and work hard until real changes are made,” which received great sympathy.
In his congratulatory speech, Yangju Mayor Kang Soo-hyun expressed his gratitude, saying, “The dedication of long-term care workers is strengthening the foundation of care and welfare in our local community.”
At the award ceremony that followed, 34 workers who contributed to improving local welfare and developing the long-term care system for the elderly were awarded the Yangju Mayor’s Award, the Mayor’s Award, the National Assembly Member’s Award, and the Association President’s Award, which deeply moved and inspired pride in both the recipients and the attendees.
Before the ceremony, Professor Park Se-young of the Social Welfare Graduate School of Yewon Arts University played the saxophone, followed by Director Park Jong-gyeong of the Peace Silver Center, and a congratulatory performance by the fusion band ‘Fusion Candy’, which received a great response. The stage, which reinterpreted familiar songs in a semi-classical style, provided a brief moment of rest and comfort to long-term care workers.
At the end of the event, a rich prize drawing event was held with the support of various sponsors and organizations, including Pocool Co., Ltd., Rexphil Hotel Bedding Brand (Bountiful), Hope Yangju, Dasarang Jaega Senior Support Service Center, Carein Youth Rehabilitation Senior Welfare Center, and Yangju Care Center Co., Ltd., which further heated up the atmosphere and decorated the grand finale of the ceremony.
Chairman Choi Hwa-ja said, “I hope that today will be a time for all long-term care workers to acknowledge each other’s hard work and reaffirm our values,” and added, “The association will continue to walk with you to provide good care, good workplaces, and sustainable nursing facilities.”
