동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 천르바오 중국총영사 초청 세계시민교육 특강 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 10일, 경주시의 후원으로 ‘경주형 세계시민교육 초청강연’을 개최하고, 천르바오 주부산 중국총영사를 연사로 초청해 시민들과 특별한 소통의 시간을 가졌다.

강연은 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 원효관 글로벌에이스홀에서 진행되었으며, “한중 파트너십과 청년 세계시민의 역할”을 주제로 한 천 총영사의 강연에는 경주시민, 대학 교직원, 재학생 등 150여 명이 참석했다.

강연 이후에는 자유로운 질의응답 시간이 마련돼, 시민들과 참석자들이 다양한 외교·문화·청년 역할 등에 관한 질문을 던졌고, 천 총영사는 이에 성실히 답변하며 활발한 소통을 이어갔다.

‘경주형 세계시민교육’은 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 글로벌융합연구소가 경주시와의 관학협력사업 일환으로 기획한 교양 강연 시리즈로, 매월 다양한 국제적 주제를 중심으로 열릴 예정이다.

이번 행사를 기획한 글로벌융합연구소의 이영찬 교수는 “경주 시민들을 대상으로 문화다양성, 지속가능발전목표(SDGs), 국제개발협력 등 세계시민성의 핵심 주제를 제공함으로써 책임 있는 세계시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하고자 한다”며, “이를 통해 경주의 지역인재 양성은 물론, 글로컬(Global+Local) 특성화 모델 창출에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

이번 초청 강연은 지역사회와 대학이 협력하여 국제적 감각을 갖춘 인재를 양성하고, 시민들의 글로벌 소양 함양을 도모하는 의미 있는 계기가 되었다는 평가를 받고 있다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus, Consul General of China Chen Libao Hosts Special Lecture on Global Citizenship Education

On the 10th, Dongguk University WISE Campus hosted the ‘Gyeongju-type Global Citizenship Education Invitation Lecture’ with the support of Gyeongju City, and invited Consul General of China in Busan Chen Libao as a speaker to have a special time of communication with citizens.

The lecture was held at the Global Ace Hall in Wonhyo Hall of Dongguk University WISE Campus, and approximately 150 people including Gyeongju citizens, university faculty, and students attended Consul General Chen’s lecture on the topic of “Korea-China Partnership and the Role of Young Global Citizens.”

After the lecture, a Q&A session was held, where citizens and attendees asked questions about various topics such as diplomacy, culture, and the role of youth, and Consul General Chen answered them sincerely, continuing active communication.

‘Gyeongju-type Global Citizenship Education’ is a series of liberal arts lectures planned by the Dongguk University WISE Campus Global Convergence Research Institute as part of a government-academic cooperation project with Gyeongju City, and will be held every month focusing on various international topics.

Professor Lee Young-chan of the Global Convergence Research Institute, who planned this event, said, “We want to support the growth of responsible global citizens by providing Gyeongju citizens with core topics of global citizenship such as cultural diversity, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and international development cooperation,” and “Through this, we expect to contribute to the development of local talent in Gyeongju as well as the creation of a global+local specialized model.”

This invitation lecture is being evaluated as a meaningful opportunity for the local community and the university to cooperate to develop talent with an international sensibility and to foster citizens’ global literacy.
