세종시의회 교육안전위원회(위원장 윤지성)가 13일부터 16일까지 총 3일간 제98회 정례회 회의를 열고, 세종시교육청 및 세종시청 시민안전실·소방본부가 제출한 2025년도 제1회 추가경정예산안을 면밀히 예비 심사했다.
이번 예비심사는 단순한 예산 증감 분석을 넘어, 예산이 실제 교육과 시민 안전에 어떤 실질적 혜택으로 이어질 수 있는지를 중심에 두고 진행됐다. 특히 13일 열린 제4차 회의에서는 심도 있는 토론이 새벽까지 이어지며 회차를 변경하는 등 위원들의 적극적인 검토 의지를 보여줬다.
이번에 교육청이 제출한 추경예산 규모는 본예산 대비 약 376억 원 증액된 1조 2210억 원이며, 시민안전실과 소방본부의 추경안은 28억 원 증액된 총 1643억 원으로 확인됐다.

윤지성 위원장은 “이번 심사는 단순한 수치 검토가 아니라, 교육과 안전 분야의 현장이 어떻게 변화할 수 있는지에 초점을 맞춘 과정이었다”며, “앞으로도 예산이 시민에게 실질적으로 다가갈 수 있도록 효율성과 투명성을 지속적으로 검토하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 이번 회의에서는 이현정 부위원장이 대표 발의한 ‘공교육 신뢰 회복을 위한 리박스쿨 출신 강사 퇴출 및 진상규명 촉구 결의안’도 긴급 현안 안건으로 채택됐다. 이 부위원장은 해당 결의안을 통해 정치적 편향성이 의심되는 외부 강사 문제를 지적하며, 공교육의 중립성과 신뢰 회복을 위한 제도적 대응을 촉구했다.
교육안전위원회에서 심사한 예산안과 결의안은 오는 18일부터 20일까지 열리는 예산결산특별위원회 심사를 거쳐, 23일 정례회 제2차 본회의에서 최종 의결될 예정이다.
