이번 행사는 한국과 몽골 간 문화 교류를 통해 시민들이 몽골 문화를 친숙하게 접할 수 있도록 기획됐다.
이날 주광덕 남양주시장을 비롯한 400여 명의 시민이 페스티벌에 참석한 가운데, △한국과 몽골 문화 체험 △퇴계원 산대놀이 △힙합 댄스크루 △퀴즈타임 △몽골 민요 공연 등 순으로 진행됐다.
특히, 한국과 몽골의 전통 문양을 활용한 종이탈, 부채, 키링, 비누를 만드는 체험과 몽골 전통의상 착용 체험은 가족 단위 방문객으로부터 많은 호응을 얻었다.

주광덕 시장은 “민선 8기 시작과 함께 수동에서의 첫 1박 2일을 보내며 이곳 몽골문화촌의 새로운 가능성과 방향을 깊이 고민했다”며 “수동을 문화예술의 중심지로 만들고 지역경제를 활성화하며 외부 관광객을 유치할 수 있는 거점으로 변화시키기 위한 첫걸음이 바로 여기서 시작된다”고 말했다.
이어 “앞으로도 수동면을 명실상부한 문화예술 힐링 빌리지로 거듭날 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
