【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)이 인구감소와 고령화에 대응하기 위해 오는 7월 1일부터 ‘다자녀유공 수당’을 새롭게 도입해 시행한다고 23일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 다자녀 가정의 양육 부담을 줄이고, ‘다자녀가정은 국가유공자’라는 구호 아래 올해 처음 시작하는 울진군만의 독창적인 양육지원 정책이다.
소득이나 재산에 관계없이 자녀 수에 따라 차등 지급되는 이번 수당은 자녀가 많을수록 더 큰 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 설계됐다. 지원대상은 울진군에 거주하는 2자녀 이상 가정의 1세부터 12세까지의 자녀이며, 첫째 자녀는 매월 5만 원, 둘째와 셋째 자녀는 각각 매월 10만 원씩 연말까지 지원된다.
울진군은 지난 6월 12일 읍·면 사업 담당자를 대상으로 사업설명회를 열고 본격적인 사업 준비에 나섰으며, 어린이집·유치원·초등학교 등 유관기관을 통해 적극적인 홍보를 이어가고 있다.
수당 신청은 7월 1일부터 읍·면사무소에서 접수할 수 있다. 부모 중 한 명이 주소지 읍·면사무소를 방문해 신청서를 작성하고, 수당 전용카드를 수령하면 자녀 수, 주소, 연령 등 지원 요건 검증을 거쳐 신청 다음 달 7일 이내에 수당이 지급된다.
특히 울진군은 수당 전액을 지역화폐로 지급해 양육비 지원은 물론, 지역경제 활성화 효과도 기대하고 있다.
손병복 울진군수는 “출산 장려를 위해서는 부모들이 안심하고 아이를 키울 수 있는 가족친화적 사회환경 조성이 필수”라며, “다자녀 가정이 국가유공자처럼 존중받고, 많은 자녀를 양육해도 삶의 질을 유지할 수 있도록 적극적인 지원 정책을 확대해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.
