이재명 대통령이 24일 "물가·민생 안정 대책을 논의함에 취약계층에 대한 세심한 배려가 반드시 수반돼야 한다"고 강조했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 열린 제27회 국무회의에서 "경제위기는 언제나 가난하고 힘없는 사람에게 큰 고통으로 다가온다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "대한민국이란 공동체로부터 위임받은 일을 수행하는 대리인"이라며 "정치 상황이 출렁이더라도 국민을 위한 본질 직무는 변하지 않는다"고 말했다.
또 "가끔 약은 사람은 빠져나가고 힘없는 사람만 희생당한다는 억울함이 들린다"며 "대한민국을 지키기 위해 특별한 희생을 치른 분들에 대한 보상·예우가 충분했는지 다시 점검해야 한다"고 했다.
이어 "가장 확실한 안보는 싸울 필요 없는 평화 상태를 만드는 것"이라며 "한반도 평화체제 구축·튼튼한 안보는 경제 안정과도 직결된다"고 했다.
더불어 "공직자 태도·판단은 작아 보여도 국민에겐 생사 문제일 수 있다"며 "국가 흥망도 결국 그런 작은 판단들이 쌓여 결정된다"고 했다.
