브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT는 통신 3사 중 올해 처음으로 ‘선호번호 추첨 이벤트’를 오는 7월 7일까지 진행한다고 24일 밝혔다. 선호번호는 식별이 용이한 휴대전화 번호 뒤 4자리로, 고객들의 선호도가 높은 번호다.
이번에 KT에서 응모할 수 있는 선호번호는 AAAA, 0000, 000A, A000, AA00, 00AA, ABAB, ABCD, ABCD-ABCD 형식의 번호와 특정 의미를 갖고 있는 번호(1004, 2580 등) 등 총 9가지 유형이다. 1인당 최대 3개까지 응모할 수 있다.
지난해 추첨 행사에서 가장 인기가 많았던 선호번호는 국번과 뒷자리 번호가 똑같은 ‘ABCD-ABCD’형이었으며, 경쟁률은 284대 1에 달했다.
선호번호를 원하는 고객은 KT 매장 및 공식 홈페이지 KT닷컴, 모바일 고객센터 마이케이티 앱을 통해 응모할 수 있다. KT 고객뿐 아니라 타 통신사 및 알뜰폰(MVNO) 이용 고객도 참여 가능하다.
당첨 결과는 7월 10일에 발표되며, 당첨 고객에게는 개별 안내 사항을 담은 문자메시지가 발송될 예정이다. 고객은 당첨된 번호 사용을 위해 7월 30일까지 당첨된 번호를 KT 매장과 KT닷컴에 등록해야 한다.
추첨 행사는 과학기술정보통신부, 한국통신사업자연합회(KTOA) 등 관계자들이 참관해 무작위 추첨으로 투명하게 진행된다. 선호번호는 타인에게 양도할 수 없으며, 선호번호를 사용 중이거나 1년 이내 선호번호 당첨 이력이 있는 고객은 응모할 수 없다.
