울진군은 지난 6월 23일 울진종합운동장 풋살장에서 울진군장애인체육회 출범식을 개최하고 본격적인 활동에 돌입했다. 이날 행사에는 무더운 날씨에도 불구하고 내빈과 군민 등 200여 명이 참석해 지역 사회의 높은 관심과 기대감을 실감케 했다.
출범식에 앞서 진행된 슐런 체험활동은 남녀노소 누구나 참여할 수 있는 경기로, 장애인 체육의 문턱을 낮추고 모두가 함께하는 스포츠의 가치를 체감할 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다.
본식에서는 장구 공연과 성악 무대가 분위기를 고조시킨 가운데, 경과보고, 감사패 전달, 회기 전달 등이 차례로 진행됐다. 특히 울진군장애인체육회의 공식적인 출범을 알리는 회기 전달식은 책임 있는 운영과 새 출발을 다짐하는 상징적인 순간으로 많은 박수를 받았다.
울진군장애인체육회는 앞으로 △생활체육 프로그램 운영 △장애인 체육인 발굴 및 지원 △체육시설 접근성 확대 △스포츠 바우처 단기 강좌 개설 등 다양한 사업을 전개하며 장애인 체육 활성화에 힘쓸 계획이다.
‘화합으로 희망을 함께하는 울진군장애인체육회’라는 슬로건 아래 울진군은 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 즐기고 성장하는 통합 체육문화를 만들어갈 것을 다짐했다.
손병복 울진군수는 “울진군의 모든 군민이 함께 어우러져 응원하고 성장하는 생활체육 르네상스 시대를 열어갈 것”이라며 “이번 장애인체육회 출범을 계기로 체육을 통해 모두가 함께 살아가는 지역 공동체를 실현하는 데 앞장서겠다”고 강조했다.
