브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 새마을금고 지역희망나눔재단이 시각·청각 장애 어린이·청소년이 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 2억원 상당의 보조기구를 지원한다.
이번 새마을금고 재단의 지원사업은 올해 10주년 맞이 사회공헌활동 개편을 통해 신규 공익사업으로 선정됐으며, 기존 보조기구 지원과 달리 지원이 열악한 시각·청각 장애 어린이·청소년 집중 지원을 통해 복지 사각지대 해소에 기여하고자 한다.
특히, 경제적 어려움으로 인해 성장에 따라 필요한 보조기구를 적기에 교체하거나 새롭게 마련하지 못하는 장애 어린이·청소년에게 실질적인 도움을 제공하고, 이들의 학습과 일상생활 참여도를 높이기 위해 기획됐다.
지원 항목으로는 점자정보단말기, 독서확대기, 특수마우스, 의사소통 보조기구 외에도 수혜자 개별 상황에 맞는 기기를 자유롭게 선택할 수 있도록 구성의 폭을 대폭 넓혔으며, 1인 최대 300만원까지 지원된다.
새마을금고 재단은 이번 사업을 통해 장애 어린이·청소년들이 교육 기회 확대와 자립 가능성을 높이며, 더 큰 꿈을 실현하는데 든든한 밑거름이 되길 기대한다.
지원 대상은 전국 단위로 선정된다. 재단은 푸르메재단과 협력, 수혜자를 발굴·모집·전문가의 심사를 통해 실질적인 필요도와 활용 가능성을 평가한 후 수혜자를 최종 선정할 예정이다.
