[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함안군이 인구감소지역대응 위원회를 개최하고 인구감소지역대응 기본계획 변경안을 심의·의결 했다고 28일 밝혔다.
이번 위원회는 인구감소지역 지원 특별법 제6조 및 제9조에 따라 인구감소지역대응 기본계획 변경을 위한 회의로, 부군수를 위원장으로 한 당연직 9명과 군의원·교수·연구기관 및 공공·비영리단체 등 위촉직 7명으로 구성된 위원들이 참석한 가운데 열렸다.
위원회에서는 급격히 변화된 인구구조와 정책환경을 반영하여 현실에 맞지 않는 목표체계를 수치중심에서 가치중심으로 변경하고 기본계획 내 실천과제의 타당성과 추진가능성을 재검토하여 기존 12개에서 11개로 조정하고 ‘24~’26 투자계획을 반영하여 총 35개 사업으로 재편하는 변경계획안이 보고됐다.
2026년 지방소멸대응기금 투자사업에는 미래인구를 형성할 기반(청년), 현재 지역을 떠받치는 인력(외국인근로자), 기본적인 삶의 권리(의료·교통)까지 아우르는 균형 전략이 담겼다.
이중, 청년 공공임대주택 ‘청년 함안채’는 가야읍 일원에 50호 규모로 신축되며 귀농귀촌 통합플랫폼, 외국인 기숙사 및 외국인 주민지원센터는 인구구조 다변화에 선제적으로 대응하기 위한 장기 프로젝트로 군의 산업과 농촌 기반 유지에 핵심역할을 할 전망이다.
또한 의료서비스 격차 해소를 위한 함안케어 응급의료 인프라 개선사업 및 교통사각지대 해소를 위한 대중교통체계 개선 및 지능형 교통체계구축은 각기 독립된 정책이 아닌 인구활력과 지역정주의 ‘생태계’를 만드는 맞물린 톱니바퀴로 인구 위기를 근본부터 해결하겠다는 함안군의 분명한 의지를 반영한다.
함안군은 “이번 위원회를 통해 실현가능하고 지속가능한 계획으로 보완한 만큼 작은 변화가 쌓여 큰 흐름이 되듯이, 오늘의 논의 결정들이 함안의 미래에 꼭 필요한 밑거름이 될 수 있도록 더욱 책임감 있게 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
