【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 2일 오전 주낙영 시장 주재로 시청 대회의실에서 7월 읍면동장 회의를 열고, 여름철 재난 대응과 복지 증진, APEC 정상회의 준비 등 주요 현안에 대한 점검에 나섰다.

이번 회의는 본청 부서와 읍면동 간 유기적 협력을 바탕으로 시민이 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 행정 추진을 목표로 마련됐다. 특히 최근 폭염경보 발효에 따라 여름철 자연재난 대응체계 점검과 사회적 약자 보호 조치 강화에 초점을 맞췄다.
시는 폭염 대응 비상 1단계 체계를 가동하고, 무더위쉼터 운영 강화, 농축수산업 분야 피해 예방 등 대응 태세를 강화하고 있다. 고령자, 야외 근로자, 독거노인 등 폭염에 취약한 계층을 위한 보호 대책도 적극 추진된다. 마을 방송과 가정 방문 활동을 통해 주민 안전 확보에도 나설 계획이다.

산내면은 고령 인구 특성을 고려한 위기가구 발굴에 집중하고 있고, 성건동은 ‘행복발전소’ 사업을 통해 독거노인 생일상·반찬 나눔, 태양열 센서등 설치 등을 시행하고 있다.
용강동은 산업로 일대에 꽃길을 조성하고 도로 제초작업을 실시했으며, 찾아가는 복지상담소 운영과 국수 나눔 행사도 진행하고 있다. 동천동은 안심귀가 거리 조성사업을, 보덕동은 해바라기 소공원 조성을 통해 주민 참여형 경관 개선에 나서고 있다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “폭염과 태풍 등 여름철 재난에 철저히 대비하고, 신속한 현장 대응 체계를 유지해야 한다”며 “복지 또한 발굴에서 연계까지 현장에서 세심하게 추진돼야 실질적인 효과가 있다”고 강조했다.
