당진시(시장 오성환)가 왜목마을과 난지섬 해수욕장을 오는 7월 5일 개장하여 8월 17일까지 총 44일간 운영한다고 3일 밝혔다.
난지섬 해수욕장은 5일 오후 2시, 왜목마을 해수욕장은 같은 날 오후 4시에 각각 개장식이 개최될 예정이며, 해수욕장 이용 시간은 오전 10시부터 오후 7시까지다.
특히 올해는 방문객 편의를 위해 왜목마을 해수욕장 내 물놀이장 2곳을 7월 23일부터 8월 17일까지 만 19세 미만 해수욕장 이용객에게 무료로 운영한다. 미취학 아동의 경우 보호자 1인 동반 입장이 가능하다.
또한, 왜목마을 오토캠핑장과 난지도 국민여가캠핑장도 잘 갖춰져 있어 물놀이와 함께 캠핑을 즐길 수 있으며, 당진해양캠핑공원 홈페이지에서 예약이 가능하다.
당진시는 해수욕장 개장에 맞춰 이용객 안전을 위한 종합상황실을 운영하며, 안전관리 요원 배치 및 유관기관과의 긴밀한 협조 체계를 유지하여 안전하고 쾌적한 해수욕장 운영에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
