브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차는 지난 6월 30일부터 7월 4일까지 라오스 비엔티안 소재의 한국-라오스 직업기술개발원(Lao-Korea Institute for Skills Development)에서 정비기술 재능기부 봉사를 진행했다고 7일 밝혔다.
라오스로 파견한 현대차 정비기술 재능기부 봉사단은 하이테크센터 소속 엔지니어를 포함해 총 14명으로, 교육은 한-라 직업기술개발원 소속 강사진을 비롯해 현대차 라오스 대리점 소속 정비사 등 61명이 수료했다.
현대차는 현지 수요가 높은 디젤 엔진을 비롯해 EV와 첨단 운전자 보조 시스템(ADAS) 등 신기술, 진단 교육으로 과목을 3개로 나눠 이론과 실습 교육을 진행했다.
특히, 라오스에서 판매 중인 아이오닉 5와 투싼, 액센트를 교보재로 활용해 교육생들의 이해를 높이고 학습 효과를 증대했다.
이번에 교육이 진행된 한-라 직업기술개발원은 라오스 노동사회복지부 산하기관으로 라오스의 경제발전에 필요한 기술 인력을 양성하는 것을 목표로 다양한 교육을 시행하고 있으며, 2004년 KOICA의 지원으로 설립됐다.
한편, 현대차는 국제구호개발 NGO 플랜코리아와 함께 2015년부터 캄보디아, 베트남, 필리핀 등 아시아 개발도상국을 대상으로 정비기술 해외 재능봉사를 꾸준히 이어오고 있다.
코로나 팬데믹으로 해외 출국이 어려웠던 2020년부터 2022년까지는 대면 교육을 진행할 수 없었으나 현지에 교육 기자재를 보내 활동이 중단되지 않도록 노력했다.
현대차 관계자는 “세계 최고 수준인 현대차의 정비기술 재능기부를 통해 개발도상국의 교육 기회 불균형 해소 및 일자리 창출 효과를 기대한다”며 “2015년부터 지속적으로 실시하고 있는 정비기술 재능봉사를 앞으로도 꾸준히 진행하겠다”고 말했다.
