【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시가 본격적인 여름철을 맞아 폭염과 태풍 등 자연재난에 대비한 상황관리 및 대응 체계를 본격 가동하고 있다고 8일 밝혔다.

이번 조치는 지난 6월 5일 대통령 주재 안전·치안 점검회의에서 강조된 ‘국민 생명과 안전 보호’ 방침에 따라, 현장 중심의 신속한 대응과 유관기관과의 협력 강화에 중점을 두고 추진된다.
질병관리청의 온열질환 감시체계에 따르면, 7일 기준 경주지역 누적 온열질환자는 10명으로 집계됐다. 이 중 60~80대 고령층이 8명을 차지했으며, 발생 장소는 논밭, 실외 작업장, 길가 등 야외에 집중된 것으로 나타났다.
경주시는 최근 낮 최고기온이 36도를 넘고 열대야도 이어지는 가운데, 민감계층을 중심으로 한 맞춤형 폭염 대응에 나서고 있다. 고령층 농업인을 대상으로 낮 12시부터 오후 4시까지 폭염 취약 시간대의 농작업 자제를 권고하고, 소방차 사이렌을 활용한 순찰 및 예찰 활동도 병행하고 있다.

특히 향후 기상 악화 시에는 토함산 등 산악 지역 주민에 대한 사전 대피 조치도 준비하고 있다.
