【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=한국수력원자력(주) 한울원자력본부(본부장 이세용, 이하 한울본부)는 지난 7월 19일과 20일 양일간 한울에너지팜에서 열린 ‘제2회 한울 열광 문화제’의 일환으로 청소년 대상 진로 탐색과 에너지 교육 프로그램을 성공적으로 개최했다.

올해 열광 문화제에서는 ‘진로·진학 컨설팅 – 나의 미래를 만나다’와 ‘에너제틱 챌린지, 원자력 골든벨!’ 등 청소년 참여형 프로그램이 큰 호응을 얻었다.
맞춤형 진학 상담으로 진로 설계 돕다
‘진로·진학 컨설팅’ 프로그램은 초등학생을 위한 흥미 기반 진로 탐색과 중·고등학생을 위한 1:1 맞춤형 진학 상담으로 구성됐다. 수도권 학군지의 전문 컨설팅 기관에서 파견된 교육 전문가들은 과목별 전략 수립부터 입시 모의고사 성적 분석까지 실질적인 도움을 제공해 학부모들의 높은 만족도를 이끌어냈다.
청소년이 직접 도전한 ‘원자력 골든벨’
올해 처음 선보인 ‘원자력 골든벨’은 지역 중·고등학생 90여 명이 참가한 퀴즈 대회로, 참가 학생들은 원자력과 에너지 관련 지식은 물론 자율 탐구 역량을 겨루었다. 이 대회에서 원자력마이스터고 2학년 우서진 학생이 최종 우승을 차지하며 장학금 100만 원을 받았다.
한 참가 학생은 “평소 원자력에 관심이 많았는데, 대회를 준비하며 일반물리까지 공부하게 돼 많은 것을 배웠다”며, “친구들과 함께한 경험도 소중했고, 내년에도 꼭 도전해 보고 싶다”고 말했다.
공공직업 체험도 ‘열광’
이외에도 울진경찰서와 울진소방서가 협력해 진행한 체험 프로그램 ‘우리의 AVENGERS’에서는 학생들이 경찰·소방 유니폼을 착용하고 싸이카와 소방차에 직접 탑승해 공공 직업에 대한 흥미를 높이는 시간을 가졌다.
이세용 본부장은 “이번 문화제가 우리 지역 미래세대가 자신의 진로를 찾는 데 작은 이정표가 되었기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 학부모와 청소년이 함께 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 발굴하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The ‘Career and College Advancement Consulting’ program consists of interest-based career exploration for elementary school students and 1:1 customized college advancement consultation for middle and high school students. Education experts dispatched from specialized consulting agencies in school districts in the metropolitan area provided practical assistance from establishing subject-by-subject strategies to analyzing mock entrance exam scores, leading to high satisfaction from parents.
Youth-directly challenged ‘Nuclear Golden Bell’
‘Nuclear Golden Bell’, which was first introduced this year, was a quiz competition in which about 90 local middle and high school students participated, and the students competed on their knowledge of nuclear power and energy as well as their independent research capabilities. In this competition, Woo Seo-jin, a second-year student at Nuclear Meister High School, won the final and received a scholarship of 1 million won.
One of the participating students said, “I’ve always been interested in nuclear power, but I learned a lot by studying general physics while preparing for the competition,” and “The experience with my friends was also valuable, and I definitely want to try again next year.”
Public job experience also ‘passionate’
In addition, the Uljin Police Station and Uljin Fire Station collaborated to conduct an experience program called ‘Our AVENGERS’, where students wore police and firefighter uniforms and rode in a psycar and a fire truck to increase their interest in public jobs.
Director Lee Se-yong said, “I hope this cultural festival will serve as a small milestone for the future generations of our region to find their own paths,” and added, “We will continue to discover various programs in which parents and youth can participate together in the future.”
