김해시, ‘가야반딧불이’ 전달식 가져

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 23일 오전 11시 시장실에서 가야반딧불이 사업 인증서 전달식을 개최했다. 

전달식은 홍태용 시장, 이헌재 김해시학원연합회장 등이 참석한 가운데 학원계의 재능기부로 저소득 아동에게 무상으로 학원 수업 기회를 제공하는 가야반딧불이 사업의 연장을 기념해 마련됐다. 

가야반딧불이 사업은 저소득 아동에게 음악, 컴퓨터, 외국어, 미술, 보습, 입시, 무용 등 다양한 분야의 학원 수업을 무상으로 제공하는 사업으로 2019년 첫 협약 체결 이후 매년 연장돼 올해로 시행 6년차를 맞았다. 

특히 올해부터 기존의 ‘1년 한시 지원’ 방식을 개선해 지원 종료 후에도 학습을 원할 경우 자부담 50% 조건으로 학원 이용 연장이 가능하도록 했다.

지금까지 330여명의 아동들이 자신의 적성과 흥미에 맞는 학습 기회를 누렸으며올해는 23개 학원이 참여해 교육 사각지대 해소에 힘을 보태고 있다. 김해시학원연합회는 앞으로도 학업에 대한 의지가 있는 아동들이 안정적으로 학습을 이어갈 수 있도록 적극 지원할 계획이다. 

홍태용 시장은 “가야반딧불이는 지역사회가 함께 아이들의 꿈을 응원하는 교육연대의 상징이다. 학업에 대한 의지를 가진 아이들이 공정하게 학습 기회를 누릴 수 있도록 앞으로도 민관이 함께 힘을 모아 나가겠다”고 말했다.
