이재명 대통령이 29일 "폭우에 이어 폭염이 심각하고, 온열질환자가 작년 3배"라며 "국가적 비상사태란 각오로 가용 역량을 총동원해 피해를 최소화해 주길 바란다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 열린 제33회 국무회의에서 "취약계층 지원·야외 노동자 보호·농가피해 예방·물가 안정에 최선을 다해달라"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "포스코ENC에서 올해 들어 다섯 번째 산재 사고가 발생했다"며 "후진적 산업재해를 영구 추방해야 한다"며 "연간 1000명 가까운 사람이 일하다 죽는다는 건 있을 수 없는 일"이라고 했다.
또 "살자고 돈 벌자고 간 직장이 전쟁터가 된 게 아니냐. 어떻게 동일한 사업장에서 올해만 5명이 일하다 죽을 수 있냐"며 "사람이 사업자를 위해 일하다 죽는 것에 대한 감각이 없는 건지 사람 목숨을 사람 목숨으로 여기지 않고 작업 도구로 여기는 게 아닌가 생각 들 때가 있다"고 했다.
이어 "똑같은 장소에서 똑같은 사고가 발생하는 건 충분히 예상할 수 있는 일인데 예상할 수 있는 걸 방어 않고 사고가 나는 건 결국 죽음을 용인하는 것"이라며 "심하게 얘기하면 법률적 용어로 미필적 고의에 의한 살인 아니냐. 죽어도 어쩔 수 없지 이렇게 생각한 결과가 아닌지 정말 참담하다"고 했다.
