【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청(교육감 임종식)은 8일 구미 더펠리즈에서 ‘2025 광주광역시 제60회 전국기능경기대회 학생선수단 발대식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
행사에는 임종식 교육감, 황두영 경북도의회 윤리특별위원회 위원장, 윤종호 경북도의회 대변인, 도내 23개 직업계고 학생선수 121명을 비롯해 학교장, 지도교사, 대회 관계자 등 200여 명이 참석했다.
제60회 전국기능경기대회는 9월 20일부터 26일까지 7일간 광주 6개 경기장에서 개최 예정으로 전국 1,725명의 선수가 기량을 겨룬다.
대회에 참가하는 경북의 학생선수단은 6년 연속 종합우승과 학생부 8년 연속 우승을 다짐했다.
올해 경북 직업계고 선수단은 금메달 8개, 은메달 15개, 동메달 20개를 목표로, 학생부 8년 연속 우승이라는 새로운 기록에 도전한다.
경북은 2020년 제55회 전북 대회부터 지난해 경북 대회까지 5년 연속 종합우승을 차지했으며, 학생부는 2017년 제53회 전남 대회 이후 7년 연속 우승 기록을 이어가고 있다.
임종식 교육감은 “경북 직업계고는 기능경기대회 7년 연속 우승과 취업률 5년 연속 전국 1위로 대한민국 직업교육의 표준이 됐다”며 “세계 직업교육의 표준으로 나아가기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

The Gyeongbuk student athletes participating in the competition are determined to win the overall championship for the sixth consecutive year and the student division championship for the eighth consecutive year.
This year, the Gyeongbuk Vocational High School team aims to win eight gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 20 bronze medals, aiming to break a new record of eight consecutive championships in the student division.
Gyeongbuk has won the overall championship for five consecutive years, from the 55th Jeonbuk Games in 2020 to last year's Gyeongbuk Games. The student division has also maintained its winning streak for seven consecutive years, dating back to the 53rd Jeonnam Games in 2017.
Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik stated, "Gyeongbuk Vocational High School has become the standard for vocational education in Korea, winning the Skills Competition for seven consecutive years and ranking first in the nation in employment rates for five consecutive years. We will do our best to become the global standard for vocational education."
