이재명 대통령이 11일 "한·베트남은 올해 양국 자유무역협정(FTA) 10주년을 맞아 2030년까지 교역 규모 1천500억불 목표 달성을 위한 노력을 강화키로 했다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 용산 대통령실에서 국빈 방한한 또 럼 베트남 공산당 서기장과 정상회담 후 공동언론발표를 통해 이 같은 회담 결과를 전했다.
그러면서 "양국은 방산·치안 분야 협력을 강화키로 했고, 국회·지방정부 차원 협력도 활성화할 것"이라며 "호혜적 경제 협력도 가속화할 것이며 원전·고속철도·신도시 개발 등 대규모 인프라 분야 협력을 강화키로 했다"고 전했다.
또 "우리 기업의 우수 기술력·풍부한 경험을 바탕으로 성공적 협력 사례가 도출되길 기대한다"며 "럼 서기장도 한국 기업의 뛰어난 경쟁력에 대해 잘 알고 있다며 한국 참여를 적극 검토하겠다고 언급했다"고 전했다.
이어 "이번에 양국이 체결한 '원전분야 인력양성 협력 MOU(양해각서)'가 향후 다양한 원전 분야로 양국이 협력을 확대하는 계기가 될 것"이라며 베트남 박닌성 동남신도시 사업 도시개발에 한국 기업 참여 방안 관련해선 "K 신도시 첫 수출사례가 될 것"이라고 평했다.
더불어 "인공지능(AI)·바이오·에너지 등 첨단분야 공동연구 및 재생에너지 분야 협력 확대도 추진키로 했다"며 "베트남의 풍부한 희토류 자원·한국 기술을 결합하는 등 핵심 광물분야 협력도 강화한다"고 전했다.
이 대통령은 "양국은 한반도 평화·북핵 문제 해결의 실질 진전을 위한 긴밀한 협력을 지속키로 했다"며 "굳건한 평화를 바탕으로 남북이 공존·번영하는 한반도를 만들기 위한 정부 구상을 설명하고, 럼 서기장 협력을 당부했다"고 밝혔다.
또 "럼 서기장은 남북 간 대화·협력을 재개하고자 하는 정부 노력을 환영하고 지지한다"며 "한반도 평화·안정에 기여하겠다는 의지를 표명했다"고 전했다.
이어 "올해 경주서 개최되는 APEC 정상회의에 베트남 측 참석을 요청했고, 럼 서기장은 긍정적으로 화답했다"며 "베트남도 2027년 푸꾸옥에서 APEC 정상회의를 개최 예정이며 양국은 두 APEC 회의가 성공적으로 개최되도록 협력키로 했다"고 덧붙였다.
