[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 일본군위안부 피해자 기림의 날인 지난 14일 오후 5시 30분 김해 연지공원 평화의 소녀상 앞에서 김해평화의소녀상기념회 주관으로 김해시민평화문화제를 개최했다고 17일 밝혔다.
일본군위안부 피해자 기림의 날은 일본군위안부 피해자 고 김학순 할머니가 피해 사실을 처음 증언한 역사적인 날(1991년 8월 14일)을 기념하기 위해 2017년에 제정된 국가 기념일이다.
김해시는 매년 일본군위안부 문제를 국내외에 알리고 위안부 피해자의 숭고한 삶을 기리고자 김해 연지공원에 세워진 김해 평화의 소녀상 앞에서 기림의 날 행사를 개최하고 있으며 올해도 사회단체 관계자와 시민 150여 명이 참석했다.
이날 기념식은 ▲사전행사(체험부스) ▲기념식(평화인사) ▲김해시민평화문화제 순으로 진행됐다. 김유철 시인의 ‘평화 소녀상 앞’에서 시 낭독을 시작으로 지역예술단체의 다양한 문화공연이 이어지며 올바른 역사의식과 여성인권을 되새기는 뜻깊은 자리가 됐다.
