혁신농업타운은 경북도가 추진하는 농업대전환 사업의 핵심 모델로, 마을 전체가 하나의 농업법인으로 구성돼 첨단화·기계화·규모화를 기반으로 이모작 공동영농을 실천하는 새로운 농촌 활성화 방식이다.
이번 사업은 기성면 황보들과 정명 곰실들 일대 약 30.4ha에서 추진되며, 17개 농가가 참여한다. 기성혁신영농조합법인(대표 안진선)을 중심으로 기존 벼 단작에서 벗어나 콩, 옥수수, 조사료 등으로 이모작 전환을 시도할 계획이다.
총 사업비 4억 원이 투입되며, 콩 파종기·수확기·드론 등 농기계 8대 구입과 전문가 컨설팅이 포함됐다. 이를 통해 공동작업 기반을 마련해 생산비를 절감하고, 쌀 과잉생산 문제 해결과 함께 수익 배당을 통한 농가 소득 안정화를 목표로 하고 있다.
손병복 군수는 “혁신농업타운은 농촌 인력 고령화와 인구감소 문제를 극복하고 지속가능한 농촌을 만드는 핵심 사업”이라며 “청년과 어르신이 함께하는 공동영농 전환의 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다. 군에서도 사업 확대를 위해 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

This project will cover approximately 30.4 hectares in the Hwangbo-deul area of Giseong-myeon and Gomsil-deul area of Jeongmyeong, with 17 participating farms. Led by the Giseong Innovative Agricultural Cooperative (CEO Ahn Jin-seon), the project will transition from monoculture rice to double-cropping with soybeans, corn, and forage.
The total project cost is 400 million won, including the purchase of eight pieces of agricultural machinery, including soybean planters, harvesters, and drones, as well as expert consulting. Through this, the goal is to establish a collaborative foundation to reduce production costs, address the problem of rice overproduction, and stabilize farm income through profit distribution.
Governor Son Byeong-bok stated, "The Innovative Agricultural Town is a key project to overcome the challenges of an aging rural workforce and population decline and create a sustainable rural environment. We anticipate this will serve as an opportunity to transition to collaborative farming, where young people and seniors can work together.
