브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 쿠팡은 극심한 가뭄으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 강릉 시민들을 돕기 위해 생수 2L 20만병을 대한적십자사를 통해 지원한다고 2일 밝혔다.
이날 후원된 생수는 대한적십자사를 통해 가뭄 피해로 생활에 불편을 겪는 취약계층을 비롯해 강릉 주민과 소상공인들에게 2일부터 3일까지 이틀간 순차적으로 전달될 예정이다.
쿠팡은 재난 발생 시 지역주민과 지역사회를 위한 지원 활동을 꾸준히 지속해왔다. 지난 3월에는 경북 의성 등 산불 피해 지역에 생필품·간식 등 3만5000여 개 구호물품을 지원했으며, 7월 집중호우 피해 지역에도 생필품·위생용품·의류 등 4만여 개 구호물품을 전달한 바 있다.
쿠팡 CSR 관계자는 “이번 지원이 가뭄 피해로 어려움을 겪는 강릉 시민들에게 조금이나마 도움이 될 수 있길 바란다”며 “상황에 따라 추가 지원 방안도 적극 검토할 예정이다”고 말했다.
