그동안 다량 폐기물은 읍·면 사무소에 신고 후 반입해야 했으나, 앞으로는 울진군 환경자원사업소(북면 울진북로 2534-14)로 직접 반입이 가능하다.
다량 폐기물은 이사, 집수리, 내부 리모델링 등으로 일시 발생하는 5톤 미만의 생활폐기물을 말하며, 일반 쓰레기봉투로 처리하기 어려운 폐목재, 장판, 벽지 등이 해당된다.
환경자원사업소는 평일 오전 9시부터 오후 4시 30분까지 운영되며, 점심시간(낮 12시~오후 1시)은 제외된다. 처리 수수료는 100kg당 3,000원으로, 100kg 미만도 100kg 기준으로 부과된다. 예컨대 80kg을 반입할 경우에도 3,000원이 부과된다. 결제는 카드로만 가능하며, 울진사랑카드 적립은 불가능하다.
군은 5톤 이상의 폐기물은 반드시 폐기물 처리업체를 통해 위탁 처리해야 한다고 강조했다. 5톤 미만이라도 불연성 폐기물이 다량 발생할 경우 위탁 처리가 가능하다. 아울러 불법 투기나 지정 장소 외 배출 시에는 최대 100만 원의 과태료 또는 형사 고발 등 강력한 조치가 이뤄질 수 있다.
김보현 환경위생과장은 “폐기물 반입 시 소각용, 매립용, 재활용품을 반드시 사전에 분리해 달라”며 “반입이 불가능한 품목은 사전 문의를 통해 안내받을 수 있다”고 당부했다.

The county emphasized that waste weighing 5 tons or more must be handled by a waste disposal company. Even for waste weighing less than 5 tons, if a large amount of non-combustible waste is generated, outsourcing is permitted. Furthermore, illegal dumping or disposal outside of designated areas can result in stricter measures, including fines of up to 1 million won or criminal charges.
