브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 수협중앙회와 오리온이 18일 수협중앙회 본사에서 합작투자 계약을 체결하고, 오는 10월 수산물 가공 합작법인 ‘오리온수협’을 설립한다고 밝혔다.
이번 합작법인은 양사가 각각 50%의 지분으로 총 600억 원을 출자해 설립하며, 수산물 공급 능력과 오리온의 글로벌 제조·유통 역량을 결합해 수산물 세계화에 나선다는 계획이다.
신설 법인은 수협이 제공하는 마른김 등 우수한 품질의 원물을 활용해 완제품을 생산하고, 오리온은 자체 보유한 글로벌 식품 가공·마케팅·유통 역량을 바탕으로 국내외 판매와 브랜드화를 담당한다. 첫 번째 사업으로는 마른김을 활용한 김 제품 생산을 시작하며, 향후 스낵류 등 소비 트렌드에 맞춘 제품 개발로 사업 영역을 확대할 예정이다. 이를 위해 연내 조미김 공장 건설도 추진된다.
